You are the Stranger, a mysterious bounty hunter on the trail of the ultimate bounty. The bounty money is desperately needed, as you have a serious medical condition and require a costly operation to be cured. The nature of your illness remains a secret and, as you will discover during the game, for good reason.

Settlements of the Western Mudos Badlands are being harassed by outlaws. Along comes the Stranger, a tall, enigmatic bounty hunter with a mission to help the cantankerous town folk, and capture troublemakers and scoundrels, returning them to the towns for a fee.
