Before using the machine you will need to preheat it for about 5 minutes. When the head rotates, stop the machine briefly to fill it with sugar. Immediately turn on the power again without letting the machine cool down. When the machine produces its first "threads", pick them up with a stick. Level the stick for a short amount of time and wrap the cotton candy around it. It will get bigger if you use the stick horizontally.
